Today Losatta news demolition postponed.
Remember since February 2025 MMRDA wanted to demolish bridge. But alert citizens stopped it.
This is power of alert citizens.
We sought details of pre preparedness such as road widening, removing of Obstruction, rehabilitation of affected building occupants, approach road, appointment of contractors and consultants all permissions and NOC , removal of underground utilities and affidavit FROM MMRDA COM to be personally liable if he fails to complete the bridge in 18 months by penalty of Rs. 5 lacs per day for every delayed day as well as criminal prosecutions
We also demanded structural audit report stating the building is dangerous and should be demolished as it is beyond repairs. But no such certificate was issued.on the contrary it was stated it can be strengthened
Hence, till all other pre preparedness as mentioned above is completed no demolition of Elphinstone bridge
I have issued notice to prosecute all those who have consented to demolish the bridge without being prepared to avoid another HANCOCK BRIDGE WHICH IS NOT COMPLETED SINCE 10 YEARS.
